Fleeced my tender greenhouse plants in readiness for a cold few nights (will remove during days if necessary).
And updated my blog for the first time in a long time!! :-)The more help a man has in his garden, the less it belongs to him.

Went into the local town and bought strawberry plants from £1 shop as well as three fillable growbags. I usually make them from old compost bags and put the growpot on the top, this will look much nicer I hope. Bought Rocket potatoes from Wilkinsons (~reduced to £2.50 as I pointed out the bag was torn)
I'm home and have already planted up 3 very large tubs, 2 x2 gallon buckets and a bag with the spuds.
Start on the strawberries after lunch. Feel quite chuffed with my purchases.Last edited by Sanjo; 04-04-2012, 01:37 PM.

I went into the greenhouse, turned the heater up a little bit more as it had dropped to 5.6 deg last night, made sure everything was tucked up in fleece and came back out again!
Seed tray shelf arrived for the greenhouse today, but I haven't worked out how to put it up yet.
Searched Derby city centre for flexitubs big enough to plant asparagus in, but they're all too shallow so will go with the deep pea/bean planter bag I've seen online.Likac66

So cold and wet yesterday I went into work and did some marking! Aarrrgggh. Potimarron and cucumbers that I started on the bedroom windowsill are up, celeriac are threatening to germinate - I can see the seeds now WITHOUT my reading glasses, so they are certainly doing something. There is watery sunshine .... I might mow the back lawn. OH is quite unwell and not up to doing much at all at the moment so if I want it done, got to do it myself. :-)

Bought another 4 strawberry and 2 planters from the local garden shop. I love the shop.
Went to BQ and bought two patio slabs to go under the second 250L water butt.
Fitted the slabs, it took ages as I wanted to do a good tidy job, now all good.
Finally fitted the water butt. All happy it was just started to rain. Damn I thought I left the tap close just to find out this morning the tap is opposite thread than normal.
Prob nothing today, just swimming, work, and cycling.
More work tomorrow...
