Exchanged flower bulbs mixed pack, after realising they were all mainly toxic for dogs, for a good rosemary plant, which I’ve planted amongst the Lavender at the front of Kitchen bed. Replaced Sweet Peas with Onward (eating) Peas up sticks - not sure whether keeping Sweet Peas or planting them in container out of the way?…
Planting Liatris behind peas and in and out of Knipforia.
Raked in Night Scented Stock and mallow either side of pinks and lavender on kitchen bed and by Roses in second bed. Dug around plum tree, thinking about what to plant underneath it? Possibly chives as companion planting. Washed plum tree with warm soapy water and then sprayed it with the same. Took stuff to compost bin. Mowed grass.
Snapped Raspberry cane with boot as walking to compost bin - will have to stick back in ground.

Got rained on up at the allotment, but managed to lay down some cardboard to hold back the weeds a little. I'm planning to stick spuds through the cardboard at the weekend.
Went shopping instead and came home with a rechargeable drill, a sturdy metal shelf unit for the shed paint for the shed and loads of screws for my potting bench that I'm building this weekend! Now all I need is the weekend to come quick
Will sow some pattypans and cucumbers this afternoon. Not a bad day over all!

Potted on the rest of the various baby cabbages. Modularise kohl rabi and fennel. Scattered some wild flower seeds, as well as ones called Finnia. Also planted some sunflower seeds.
Went to a well known garden centre, as Ma sees it as a day trip. Ma and grand dad mike both then say they don't fancy it, so went alone but had to get some marigolds as Ma told me to. Some of which were then filched by Ma, and then rest taken to the plot. Six were sown as the heavens opened, and the rest are now sat in the Wendy house.
Had a good think about dahlias-have established that they are devisive; folks either love em or don't- saw a few in the garden centre. How does one bag, have one plant in there, there are all those tuber things. I quite like the look of them.

today i have repotted 7 sunflowers on and two radishes are just starting to pop their heads out. Also spotted some very very small tomoto flowers just starting to peep out. I weeded three beds and got my dad to shred loads of old wood/leaves/garden junk.

Divided up some more of my Lobelias. Sowed, beetroot, radish and transplanted red lettuces into my fleeced salad bed. Gave the sweetcorn a talking to and asked them to hang in there until they dry out a bit and then I'll give them a diluted feed of the "special" fluid as advised by Two Sheds in another post this morning. They didn't react, grumpy little s""s

Thinking about what to companion plant around base of apple and plum trees, I found about 6 -8 suckers mini trees from the original old plum tree. Carefully dug up, remove these from original tree and divided these, planting in their own pots or together where root system was joined. Will leave in front porch for a while, as protects from frost without getting overly hot/sunny (North facing). Hopefully some new plum trees come November. Weeded around fruit tree bases, checking roots, ready for the Comfrey, Lemon balm, or whatever I eventually decide to plant there. Took uncompostable garden waste to tip. Replanted sweet peas I’d dug up from garden in container. De headed primroses, and perennial flowers in window boxes which are just beginning to sprout yellow flowers again - yay
Replanted snapped raspberry cane again next to the others.
Ordered 70 marigold plug plants (bout 21p each yayz!)
Ate too many biscuits/cuppas during couple of small rain showers lolLast edited by GardenFaery; 12-04-2012, 06:25 PM.

managed to give the bean frames a final digging over - and filled the bean trenches with newspaper and homemade compost. them reloacted my pak choi - as they where wasteing too much space (now i can get another row on peas in). Then i decided to do a pea and bean seed circle No 12 (please join if you are growing some beans and peas for seed)Last edited by Matt94; 12-04-2012, 06:30 PM.
