    • Tried to salvage a trough of radish's after my son saw me gathering salad leaves for my wife's lunch and decided to help by pulling up all 30 plants >.<
Happy to see 2 lines of spring onions and 3 lines of carrots finally, and started looking at planting some french beans and courgette's.

      • Dug over almost a full new bed, twice the width as I'm putting spuds there (no need for paths!). Put together my shelving for the shed - just need to bring tools up there tomorrow, as I couldn't tighten the screws very well with my fingers!

Collected four free white plastic garden chairs for the allotment, and successfully ran through the rain without tripping over! Kids painted the shed in between rain showers. Very good day indeed

        • Today I (it was actually yesterday but just pretend) fitted a plastic tap with a hozelock style nozzle to the side of a wheelie bin. I now have a water butt...yay!
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

          • Transplanted some greens, peas, beans and cuke into the raised bed.

Saw some scorzonera have poked their heads up, very happy making.

            • Not a lot as cold worsened again. Mr VVG pruned the edge of the wood and watered in the newly sown potatoes.

              • I finished digging over the rest of the allotment and also sown some sweetcorn which are now in my dads greenhouse.

I'm also glad to find that 5 out of the 6 green beans have germinated that are currently sat on my windowsill. I was worried at the start of the week that I may have over-watered them.

                • was treated to a paraffin greenhouse heater so have been working out how to use it! Potted on 7 more sunflowers, 2 chili plants, 2 cucumber plants, a courgette plant and a new tomato plant. Did some watering and eyed up my lovely radish and little gem seedlings that are very busy germinating!

                  • Potted on more of the squashes, the chillies and peppers and the one cucumber.

                    Nothing major.

                    • Not much garden related really apart from starting to harden off my toms, chillies and courgette plants.
Finally finished and put up my Lean to greenhouse, so hope to move my above plants out to this during the days

                      • It rained heavily until about 2pm, so went and bought more beetroot seed then went up to lottie once rain stopped and finished sowing the row of beetroot I started yesterday.
Hoe'd round everywhere again (where do all the weeds keep coming from?)
Planted a full row of Parsnips that had been growing in toilet roll tubes. Put slug pellets down round parsnips and broad beans.
Straightened up the runner bean trench (weeds were growing in from the path) and dumped all the weeds.

                        • Sowed 4 kinds of Psb, some Malabar, chard, lettuce, parsley coriander and basil.washed my best big pots. Pricked out 20 Brussels plants and searched for the critter that nipped the top off my Cherokee tomatoes.

                          • Yesterday, sowed some climbing Frenchies and sweetcorn in pots, some more cauliflower in grape boxes (they're great, quite deep and already got holes in) and mowed both lawns (lots of clippings to mulch the raspberries at the plot). OH will have to help me lift the plastic dustbin into the back of the car. Took some runner bean canes to the plot (£3.49 for 10 ... I love a bargain). OH seriously impressed by how tidy everything is looking. Ahhhh ... the benefits of a school holiday. As I said to him - "It won't last".

                            • Potted up the asparagus peas and the herbs. Transplanted alpine strawberries to the bed.

Worrying myself sick again for the un-transplanted ones inside, like the toms, since I have to go away again soon for a week. I think I have to shift them to the bed to give them a chance of survival.

                              • 3 Native Australian Grevillia's and 2 Banksia roses bought and planted. Bought by me and planted by son since I have done somethiing nasty to my back. Put some 'organic' feed on the plants, and the dogs have been tryiing to eat all the dirt since. Must be pretty tasty organic!
