I'm trying to persuade one of my radishes to go to seed, so that I can try radish pods, they're apparently quite tasty. I've also now bought a variety that is grown just for the pods.

            • Sunshine at last, but, with thunderous showers interspersing this.
Planted out wallflowers in bed with rocket and radishes, pulled out all the bolted old radishes and replace with new seedlings from my cardboard grow box! Checked hollyhocks, weeded, picked red roses and apple blossom - lovely combination and looped over tall bits of blossom to make an indoor arrangement, cut front lawn, bought some more twine, moved lavender further forward so it all hangs one way over path, moved pinks forward and replanted rosemary behind in a sunny spot, weeded, checked hollyhocks and mallow, planted out some profuse seedlings - can’t remember WHAT though in a sheltered sunny position between lavender and pinks
Tried to cut up branches of fallen lilac tree but can't, consequentely clambered over pile of cuttings and weeds to reach back gate and lawnmower LOL

              • Tucked my courgettes up in cloches. Bought more compost in hopes that it might dry out enough for me to actually plant the squashes this week, and some Slug Gone to try when I plant out the calabrese. And some watercress seeds.

                • Planted some more dutch irises and gladiolus.

Tutted ruefully at the state of the lotment.

                  • Dry mostly here today. Potted on some tomato plants, an aubergine, gherkin and cucumbers.

                    • Dug over the beds again with a little compost before planting out two Honey Bear squash and two climbing beans. Sowed four more beans in the freed up pots. Hand-pollinated the first courgette. Put small canes in the onion pots to try and keep the neighbour's cats from wandering all over the poor things.

                      • pulled out some of the spinach plants that were finished and sowed turnips, pak choi and swiss chard. Replaced some of the weird looking cut and come again salad leaves with tastier looking ones!

                        • Dug up my container grown garlic. Absolutely rubbish and the compost was full of slug eggs.

                          • Tidied up the Wendy house and 4TB. Removed all the dead seed trays.

Harvested a dozen onions; a couple of red electric and some shenshyu. As well as two clumps of shallots.

Also! Three big cloves of garlic!

                            • Garlic big disappointment, minute and and mushy.

Put up some trellis after planting out my squash plants. Going to try making them climb rather than letting them sprawl this year.
