    • just did some general garden tidying today. Weeding, sweeping and tying up any plants that needed support. Things are starting to show signs of flowering/fruiting/etc though.

        • Weeded a root bed then sowed more carrots and beetroot plus a few radish just in case. Weeded where the red shallots had been then planted out some pathetic sweetcorn. Weeded the rest of the shallots and onions. Did some harvesting .Watched the frogs. Potted some armpits .

          • I'm pricking out lemon basil in the bright warm and windy sunshine and twice the rain has come so quickly and so heavily I've been soaked. Carry on regardless I think. Off we go again.

            • Planted out sunflower, weeded generally, netted raspberries - they will be ripe within the week.
Checked pond, bought wicker basket from antique shop for garden and general stuff.
Plucked leaves off of rocket, lettuce and flowers off Nasturtium for lunchtime salad. Bought cabbage, Autumn carrots and cauli seeds.

                    • I kid you not, you have to keep your arms tight to your sides and avoid the cobwebs in your hair because your head touches the roof. Bit like a sentry box, but with greenery.

Killed lots of snugs too - without malice, well nearly

Have also taken some pictures for my blog: 1st July – Return from Holiday… Rain… Weeds…. Masses of growth! « Niall's Garden

Will also be transplanting out the last of my sweetcorn plants, courgettes and squash.
