Did a sketch of what's going where
Had a big fire to get rid of winter debris

          • Dug over patch for peas, added compost and covered in black plastic.
Sieved a load of compost and shut down another heap.
            Thinned tomato and pepper seedlings.
Put netting over the garlic to stop the cat rolling on it, then rescued the cat from the netting.

              • It has been a dull, grey day here today.

I did get outside though and put some plastic over the front of the cold frame OITC is in the process of building then sowed some radish, yellow beetroot and spring onion in mini tunnels.

                      • Planted out Early Wight garlic from modules into garden.
Sowed more salad leaves, rocket and mustards, plus kale, collards, broccoletto, texel greens and edible leaf radish - all in modules in the house.
Sowed Peas - Meteor, Champion of England and Telephone. Sugarbon and Sutton broad beans. Again in modules indoors. Hope to grow some on in pots in the GH for an early crop
Had lunch outdoors for the 3rd or 4th day in succession I lurve this time of the year

                        • Finished rebuilding the collapsing raised bed and dug out more bindweed roots. One end of that bed has tree roots invading so dug some of them up and cut them back. They must be from the leylandii hedge - it's really got to go at some point but it's useful shelter for now.

Had to go to the hardware store for fire cement and couldn't resist grabbing a bag of Casablanca potatoes. Never grown them before but I wanted some first earlies to go with the Charlottes and Kifli and they were already chitting nicely and winking at me.

                          • Nearly bl**dy killed myself on this back breaking garden...grrrrr. Pruned an overgrown tree that kept prodding me in all the wrong places. Dug over another third of the LHS. Planted up some more in Tansy's garden. Cleaned out the chooks. Moved their house and run alone. No mean feat. Scratched myself to bu**ery on roses. Fed the darned things with bonemeal. Raked until I was dropping. Did sow seeds this lunchtime - errr Brussels Sprout, Lettuce and errr something else - ah Sutherland Kale. Never grown it before so any advice much appreciated - thanks.
