        • Transplanted tomato seedlings into peat pots today. Sowed Charentais and Sweetheart melons in propagator on Sunday - Charentais seedlings mostly germinated, odd Sweetheart has too.
Sowed sunflowers, nasturtiums and runner beans in propagators on Sunday too. Sunflowers germinated, some signs of life from runner beans too.
Peas that I sowed in peat pots a week or two ago are sprouting well, the odd one have leaves on.

            • I know. I'm amazed by it all. VC leading us all astray! Now I'm shocked.

              • Just wait till we start dropping packs out of planes!

Came home to find my seedlings looking very sorry for themselves. Watered and a prayer said.

I wouldn't have said a prayer.... I would probably have said a swear word like bludding hell!

                  • Nearly finished raised beds. Thanks neighbour for a wood from his old bed. Planted second tray of okahijiki (first one already germinated), repotted sweet pepper Belle seedlings. Ordered more compost.

                    • Never heard of okahijiki till just now. A quick goggle and hey presto.

I like marsh samphire, is it similar LRG?
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Never grown Kale as most home recipes require cabbage. May I have a seedling or two?

No idea! That's my first year of trying it, as well as caigua and mouse melon, just tired of old pest ridden vegetables and looking for smth that can just grow without too much attention. I might have planted too much as the first lot germinated 8 out of 9, now I've sown another 24. Will try to swap for other seedlings.

                          • Most of the seedlings look like they're recovering, someone remind me to water them again in t' morning.
I wanted to get them into the ground, but I didn't get the chook house fixed, so will need to do that tomorrow aft. So either after that, or on sat morning before I'm off.

I just want to spend a day in the garden, but it's not happening yet.

                              • Sowed 4 different varieties of beetroot into a 40 cell module tray, 10 seeds of each and hopefully followed every 2-3 weeks by sowing more! They were:
                                !. "Boltardy" ever reliable.
                                2."perfect 3"
                                3. "Detroit 2" Crimson globe
                                4. "Pablo"F1 hybrid.
Only ever tried "Boltardy" before and it has always done well for me, so as I have these other seeds giving them a try!!
                                Also sowed some "greyhound" cabbage.
