Well yesterday actually ... cleared out the garage and took loads of 'stuff' to the plot for re-cycling - old curtain poles, random floor tiles, a dismantled cupboard, 2 big chunks of surplus 'work surface' - there is going to be much Heath Robinson construction! Just typical though that the weather is improving at the end of the school hols though!

Planted out a jostaberry and yet another rhubarb crown (keep killing them). Lifted the last endive roots for forcing.
Put anti slug mesh around kiwi and hibiscus as they are both being destroyed as soon as any bud breaks.Le Sarramea https://jgsgardening.blogspot.com/

A friend came to lottie to help me rabbit proof the rabbit proof fence, as the darn bugsbunnies are still getting in. We dug chicken mesh into the ground about 6" deep outside the already existing fence and wired it in. Fence is now okay on 3 sides and we'll do the other side next week. I defy them to find a way through that lot!! A lovely 'warm moist soil and plant' smell in the lean-to greenhouse when I got home.

Decided some of the 'weeds' in the garden are actually land cress. It's pretty hot and peppery so destined for the soup pot - unless a better idea comes along. Husband was impressed at how much it tastes like watercress (he's just a wee bit skeptical about my plant id skills and willingness to eat things once I've decided what they are! ).
Admired how much the radishes have grown in the last 24 hours, and indoors found three cucumber sprouts and another Hot Lemon Drop chilli. And I think my biggest jalapeno is contemplating its first true leaves.
Oh, and bought some marrowfat peas to try growing pea shoots.March is the new winter.
