  • Dug over a 4'0" bed about 15'0" long, sprinkled lime on surface and dibbled in a load of Lion Prizetaker leeks!
    Weeded the path alongside it.

          • Gutted the greenhouse...cleared it of years of weeds and rubbish (not long moved in and not had a chance to clean it yet)...lay weed membrane on the floor. Fixed the staging and filled it with plants. Looks lovely now Just need to find some cheap/free gravel to lay on the floor and fix a few panes of glass

Did some general weeding around the garden...now off to the allotment, I was going to plant some peas out but I'm not sure how hardy there are and its going to get cold the next two evenings. Hmmmmmmm. Gonna do a bit of weeding, digging and...hmmm. pottering about? Then home to repot tomatos, chillis, squash, cukes and courgettes.

                  • potted out my petunias (snigger), sowed pak choi, runner beans, chinese spinach and courgettes. I put four others out about 3 weeks ago and they are just hanging in. Too eager but am hoping.

Weeded two of my beds and panicked about lots of fat whitish worms, posted on another thread about them.

Rescued my vase of dead flowers which Jeff had thrown on the rubbish instead of in the compost. faffed about and fretted about what I am missing on planting and sowing! I saved some butternut squash seeds today, do I have to wait till they are fully dried out before I try sowing them?

Did some mandarin language study - my teacher has a massive allotment and we trade. Tonight he's making jiaozi, Chinese dumplings, yummy.

Potted on some chillis and sweet peppers.

                        • Discovered that my mum accidently threw out my entire seed stash that was in a jiffy bag

Also planted Oregon Sugar Pod mangetout that was pre germinated in a container with damp kitchen roll on top my boiler, looking forward to these as this is my first time growing MT!

                          • Popped down the allotment and looked at all the weeds growing beautifully. Tried to work out if any of the various weeds were turnips.

Put more string up between canes for the peas as they are growing taller and taller.

Pulled up 3 small radishes. Flea beetle seems rife on the plot.

Watered tomatoes, sweetcorn and courgettes with nettle tea - see separate thread on the stench of it!

                            • Planted out some Peas I bought last week (3rd time lucky lets hope?) Laast two sowings rotted, even under cloches :s

But I have started to chit a 4th lot this evening as back up, and a different variety ( we love peas anyway).

Checked on my Broad beans, finallly starting to flower and the next lot are starting to come through the soil now, took their time :P

                              weeded the raised beds

Preparing the bed for my leaks, they are slowly but surely thickening up, its painful though!

Put up 50m of windbreaking material.

Put up an archway for my beans.

checked on my sprouts, my dad killed all 20 youg plants i had raised from seed since march by throwing soil on top of them (the ridges) when he was building up the ditch nearby have to pick up some plug plants next week.

                              • Watered tomatoes and peppers. Staked up my peas some more (all now flowering). Watered and fed my strawberry plants which are flowering nicely. Noticed my dahlias are coming through, so obviously they survived being left in the ground over the winter. Spent a bit more time and effort still trying to dig out the bamboo plants under the window in my front garden. Not sure who is winning, me or them. Only time will tell.
