    • Over the weekend I:

battled with Miss Loudbarker (5) over violin practice and homework
planted out 12 tomato plants (3x Latah, 2x Sungold, 3x Stupice, 2x San Marzano, 1 xMoneymaker and 1x Legend Bush) all outdoors (but v sheltered spot) in growbags and tomato plant halos that worked very well last year.
Planted out 4 courgette plants: Defender x 2 and Soleil x2.
Harvested a bowlful of mini-raddish - just big thinnings really
      Harvested PSB for sunday tea
Noticed broad beans will be ready next weekend!
Also a few spring cabbage/greens - var hispi - look really good and hope the taste as good.
Noticed second lot of french beans beginning to germinate - bit slow
      Watering of soft fruit

Also more clearing of garden and strimming at new house

Next weekend - plant out tomatos, sieve home grown compost for leeks to be planted out, sow (possibly) swede and PSB and maybe savoy cabbage and possibly more carrots

      Weeding nees to be done

      • potted up the classrrom cabbages and cauliflowers. I am rubbish at pricking out. Most was just leggy. Still have 60 of them, rather than hundreds.

Fed the classroom chillies and bells. Noticed that Nigel has a single solitary flower.

          • Over the weekend:
            • Planted another 'batch' of radishes
            • Planted some 'plug' garlics (only 10, to see how they like my garden)
            • Sowed some celery (as FINALLY found some seeds!)
            • Also peas
            • Pricked out a load of lettuce seedlings into individual modules
            • Installed a floodlight in my 'new' (reclaimed) area to allow slug/snail hunting
            • Turned my compost (4 x 1 x 1m)
            • Started a new heap in bin #1
            • Installed wires to train a grape vine
            • Started using the pool to cool down as it's hitting 30+ since the 1st of June
            • Did general weeding and spraying for mildew and rust

Sugar - looks like I was busy!

                • Rescued some plants from outside, where the landlord had allowed some builders to put up scaffolding without telling me (despite it being a private garden), luckily my tomato had only been kicked around a bit in its pot, and is OK- unlike my lovely big rosemary bush, which is now 2D.

                  Grumbled.

Went down the builder-free allotments, and planted out some bridgewater beans, runner beans, and some leek seedlings that were getting a bit too cramped.

Watered anything that looked like it needed it. The strawberries are heaving with flowers- I think I need to get some more netting, as they've grown so much, they're pushing the existing net off, and the ratbag magpies will scoff the lot given half a chance.

Watered everything in the polytunnel and cleared up as best as can so I can plant out other stuff in the borders.

                              • Prepared some compost with BFB and gel crystals ready to plant a couple of tomatoes into hanging baskets tomorrow.
                                Potted on the children's sunflowers.
                                Watered everything in the garden.
Went down the allotment - given 2 lettuce and spring onions from kind allotment neighbour. Watered what needed watering and picked some spinach - both red cardinal and perpetual.

Pleased to see my chickens are all cooped up properly again - 2 nights in a row so hopefully they've got the hang of it now.
