    • Now the rain has arrived, transplanted rather large PSB that I had put into pots waiting for spare ground after the potatoes had been dug up. Covered them in mesh and am hoping that they won't mind being moved.
Picked climbing french beans, chard and courg

The BiL of the donor is a brickie and is going to dismantle & move it here, build the base and re-erect it
I spent this afternoon hacking away the shrubs that have grown over the "rockery". It was a trip down memory lane. Once upon a time it was a herb bed, with a flat bit in the middle where I'd put 3 colours of slate chippings in an artyfarty design! I used to have a chair and a little table there for morning coffee. Its taken all afternoon to find the slate again

How it looks now- rain stopped play!
Watch this space - it will look quite different soon!!

        • Made final sowings of carrots - the earlier ones didn't do anything so this is their last chance.
Harvested some white and purple kohl rabi and sowed some radish in their place.
Did a bit more clearing of virgin ground. Much easier after yesterday's thunderstorms!

                  • Spent the morning clearing the "rockery" as a site for the new GH.
Early afternoon - found out that the "rockery" isn't large enough
Spent the rest of the afternoon cutting down the kiwifruit - this will definitely make enough space
Arms and wrists aching from all the lopping

                      • Sowed spring cabbage under a cloche to keep the pigeons off it. Forgot to sow PSB at the right time so relented and bought a punnet of plants from the GC. When my onion bed is cleared it will make way for PSB.
Harvested a cabbage, two calabrese heads, three cougettes and some jap onions.
