However my wife announce we had to take our other chap and ourselves for a flu jab at 12 am.
Just getting him out of the house can be very difficult. We arrived at reception bang on time because he just doesnt like waiting and he kicks off big time. The receptionist informed me the appointment was for NEXT week. She said we could wait and the nurse would do us at the end of clinic or return next week.Well we chose to wait, but i wish we hadnt, David (name changed to protect the innocent) was unbeievable, he shouts, tries to undress, tears the magazines, constantly wants the loo even though he doesnt really etc etc.. I was drained after 1 and a half hours. Got home to find our other chap had returned from work and paniced when we werent there, he was in the process of about to use a crow bar on our knew double glazed window to get in. To add to my misery I'm sure I am getting man flu due to the injection.
Hope you had a stiff drink last night Bill and today brings a better day! Fair play to you, I'm sure it's all appreciated.

Yes this one was, but is a 'refresher' course, I did the original one 3 years ago, so was agreed I could do this at home. I think there are a number, but this is the one agreed by the organisation, and they set it up etc. I do voluntary work in a children's hospice, so the standards have to be incredibly high.

If you wud like the details, I can let you have them?

        • Depending on what you need the course for, it might be a good idea to check that your 'organisation' will accept it as a certificate, if you see what a mean.

Well you would think wouldnt you, but in fact neither of our people, service users, clients, patients (all these names have been PC over the years)appreciate a single thing we do for them, part of their conditions is an unbelievable built in selfishness. It bothers us not or we wouldnt be doing it. They are simply part of our family.

                  Completed it, ok.

It is one run by Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the CIEH, e-learning.

                  Their website is good.

                  • Dug some more of the allotment, removing weeds etc. There is a whole pile of wood chip at the entrance so I spread about 5cm / 2in of that over the soil before I dig it. We have clay soil and the wood chip breaks it down a treat. The number of worms in the soil is astonishing, hope that's a sign that the soil is in good condition.

                    • One more sack of leaves in the leaf cage.

Tidied and mulched the asparagus bed.

Strimmed the grass path at the edge of the plot.

Pulled more weeds from the area where the beans were. The comfrey will need sorting out at some stage as it is spreading.

Got very cold over there after 2.30 so came home for a hot cuppa and some chocolate.

                          • I built a stand to hold at least 3 water butts today, bolted it to the back of my garage, the butts will be about 4ft off the ground to give me a bit of pressure. I have used water like nobodies business this year and I am dreading the bill. My area has the most expensive water in the country, it will soon be cheaper to water everything with cheap lager.

                            • Probably the best thing to do with cheap lager isn't it?
