  • I've been reading this thread for HOURS and love it!

I get my first day at my new (and first) lotty this weekend. So basically, I've done naff all. I have been doing my homework though and reading through a million threads, googling all sorts of weird and wonderful things and twitching because I just want to get something done!

Hopefully within the next few days - a week I will have some seeds which I can get started on the windowsills while I tidy the lotty and the weather warms up

Lists.. I've made many, many lists.

    • Upstairs windowsill checked my chillies - healthy little plants so far and surprisingly un-leggy. Checked to see if the fresh Angelle tomato seed had germinated yet but nothing doing. On the downstairs windowsill it looks like my curly parsley has germinated and pea shoots doing okay, but no sign of Thai basil yet. In greenhouse I thinned out some red frills mustard which had germinated too close together and sowed some little gem lettuce seed and a few more peas for shoots. Watered rocket and komatsuna which has put on a growth spurt in the last week or so as it's been quite mild in London. I am tempted to sow some cape gooseberry seeds but probably need to go buy compost for that.

Try going in through "Safari" rather than using the "App" Nannysally99 "Works for me"

And we like pictures! Were "Nosey Begger's!"

"Pricked" out most of the "Toms" Made an Executive decision to do 1 1/2" pots to move em on, as a few are a little "Leggy" but of no concern!

          They look "Healthy" enough!

Then probably weekend, when I have a little more time, shall drop em in 3" pots enabling me to bury em up to their "Armpits"

But the props are now free for other stuff!

They were from Gardeners W@rld mag, just had to pay £4.95 postage, very impressed especially as they weren't supposed to be shipped until end of march

                  • Took some photos for the calendar thread. Spread some cocoashell on the ornamentals - got a bag cheap because it was split . Moved a saxifrage plant which was not happy sitting in a puddle and put it on the rockery. Replaced it with a primula wanda. Sowed some pea meteor in the propagator.

                              • We had a power cut earlier so I tidied my office and flattened out a load of cardboard boxes, which have gone on the veg patch.

Also potted on some pea seedlings (Kelvedon Wonder) and put them outside to harden off, potted on a cucumber seedling and two tomato seedlings (Costoluto Genovese). Sowed some Alpine strawberry seeds and some runner beans (Scarlet Emperor).

Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
