Tickled over a bed and removed a few dandelions which the chooks soon gobbled up. Planted out my shallots I had started in modules as the roots were starting to get out of hand even though there was no top growth.
Up at 6.30am walked dogs..........Travelled to lottie........Left lottie at 8.30am to get to work for 9.00!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Finally finished my path, ironically I ran out of stones and had to gather more
Also started the "Herb garden" part of the plot, planted some Bronze Fennel and Dill, also started my rows of Spring Onions, successional sowings of Purple "Lilia" and White Lisbon with approx 12" of each so far.
Planted some of my chitted parsnips yesterday and realised I had used the wrong spacing so today dug them up carefully and managed to find most of them and repositioned them, only lost 2.Attached Files

Yesterday, after doing loads of 'domestic stuff' cos, we had thick fog.
I potted on to larger pots all the herbs I had bought the day before, tidied up some other herbs I have growing in pots on downstairs balcony, they have survived the winter and wet, well, mint , marjoram and parsley, also the Alpine straws.DottyR

Snap with Binley! I potted on tomatoes (Costoluto Genovese, Latah Early, Mucho Miel), pumpkins (Cheyenne Bush) and some night-scented stock that are a present for my mother. They're not looking too great this morning so fingers xxed I haven't killed them
Then I sowed a load of lettuce seeds, six different sorts, in a windowsill thingy. Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

Had a few hours "on't plot"
Got me onions in, fettled the Autumn planted garlic bed, now things starting to warm up a tad, their making a go of it! Not impressed with the "Shallots" but they have two choices! Give em another few weeks n see how they go! Have some "Bannana Shallots" waiting in the wings!
Got one "Carrot" box ready! Three more to do!
And feeling "Energetic" emptied the compost bin n added a few big buckets of good stuff!
Now that's what I call "Good Muck"
Am sure my back shall remind me in the morning!
Just run through the "Ifone Fred" really must try get on here more often!"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad"

This morning I rotavated the bed I'm going to be growing potatoes in. I also rotavated a small raised bed I built over winter for my strawberry runners. This afternoon I planted the garlic I started off in module cells. I'll probably be down the plot tomorrow morning so I'll be getting the strawberries in then hopefully. Going to cover the bed with a weed membrane to keep the weeding to a minimum.Chris

- got up the school to pull out acres of chickweed (it's better than bentgrass, which also has to come out)
- turned the daleks, found a large quantity of plastic again. I'm going to take the compost bin out of the staffroom
- got the first cut of alfalfa, laid the choppings on the raised beds as mulch
- took up the first trays of veg plants, ready to go in the beds
- started pruning the buddlejas (3 large ones)
- trimmed the lavender hedgesAll gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
