Mulched a couple of pots, and gave a lot of thought as to whether to add a couple of rose bushes, and whether to evict my cardoon and globe artichoke .... still undecided
Repotted my courgettes into the big pots, sowed some chilli and cilantro into seed trays, picked up some flowers from lgc not sure where they will go yet have to find a space for them
Put my Hop Rhizomes (thankyou Olorin2001) in a little water and into the fridge ready for taking up to the allotment tomorrow. Excited about growing my own hops and using them in my home brew beer
No gardening today as I was visiting my Mum, but in truth after yesterday I did need a rest. Yesterday I started first thing in the morning planting some seed potatoes in a well protected old water butt, which meant emptying half a dustbin full of compost into it. I then emptied the bottom half of the hotbin into the dustbin. Went to my friend's house and did some more digging and raked the bit I've done so it hasn't got a huge hump in the middle. I've dug about 3/4 of it now, and removed about 4 large trugs full of perennial roots in the process. Tomorrow I might get some onions planted, hopefully.
Planted some spudatoes and gave them a duvet of manury straw
Cleared a space in the shade of an old apple tree for my Wine Cap mushroom bed. The spawn is in the fridge, waiting for its woodchip home.
Sowed watercress seeds in a tray of gloopy mud - that looked like melted chocolate!
Pointed the mangetout to the chicken wire fence and gave them a helping hand to start twining. You can't beat a 20' row of mangetout to get the taste buds working
No rain but a bit nippy out there.
Didn't get tunnel door frames on yesterday. Got one on . Discovered door wouldn't open inwards because of the slope so rehung it on the outside where it was swinging away from the slope. Could have lifted and relaid a couple of slabs on the level inside but 3ft x2ft slabs are too big to be messing about with.
Now for today. Patched the bottom of one side of the other door frame. I sometimes surprise myself with my joinery skills Fitted that frame and hung the door swinging inwards away from the slope.
Next is to fit rails from the door frames to the side rails and then at last I will be ready for the new skin. Well, I'll have to remove the old anti hot spot tape first but hopefully that will be a dawdle. It will, I know it will

Reason: changed slop to sloep :)
Not a lot done by me the past few days works gotten insanely busy again. But have just been up tunnel ( with a torch) and everything seems to be happy.
Got my onions in, lifted the last of the leeks and replanted some elsewhere for seed saving. Sowed some more seeds and polinated the nectarine blossoms.
I'm a bit worried about my garlic, the green parts are a pale green and the leaf ends have yellowed and look dead
- finally killed the forsythia, replaced it with Black Knight buddleja
- continued digging unwanteds out of the front garden: phalaris, violets & black elder went today
- planted out loads more peas & broad beans
- started chitting French beans in the kitchen
- continued sowing seeds in the heated prop, putting the germinated stuff in the unheated greenhouse
- sowed 3 trays of lettuce in the gh (no heat necessary)

Erected more wires for raspberry canes, and tried to tidy them a bit, giving me a bit more space to get into fruit cage.
Dug up and replanted lots of strawberries that had seeded themselves and grown into quite large plants under current bushes. Replanted them them in strawberry bed.
Removed some weeds, dandelions etc from strawberry bed. Threw some chicken manure pellets over strawberry bed.
Laid more newspaper on bottom of one of new raised beds.
