Sowed 16 sweetcorn plants indoors. Swift F1, given a little fertiliser drink to my potted on toms and squashes, hopefully that will brighten them up a bit.. Uncovered all potatoes, will cover them again tonight I think

After a head count I realised I was one English game bantam missing,.....again.
The last two evening one of my new English game bantams ahas been outside of the run trying to get back in with its mates. Each time I've retrieved her and patched up various areas I thought she may have squeezed out.
This evening I arrived and as usual Houdini was missing again but this time there was no sign of her. Fox fodder I thought, I have recently lost a few to a fox.
I'd been ther half an hour when one of the other plot holders shouted that he had spotted a hen on one of the other plots. The two of us managed to corner her and I managed to get her returned safely to the flock. I nailed a lump of wood along the bottom of the coop door where i thought she may be squeezing through a gap. Black hen decides to jump over my head and maake her escape. Cornwered her eventually and all are present and accounted for ....................for now!
Picked a large boiling of PSB for my supper.
Sowed 24 sweetcorn seeds. Bought these F1 seeds for 99p including postage off eBay. Postage was 72p and they were in a padded envelope worth 20p. The seller would also have to pay sellers fees so probalby lost out on the deal as a whole. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Inspired by some H0me B@rg@ains bargains I planted up a tiny bed on the patio and added a homemade water feature
Ingredients:-
3 Senetti cinerarias = £3
2 wallfowers = £2
1 stainless steel ball = £3
I solar pump = £6
One preowned planter and a bucket load of chippings
= £14.
Its really brightened up the corner - especially as I cut down some of the tallest bamboos for this year's beansticks. Here they are drying under the guttering on the shed

I put down a weed suppressing membrane yesterday for my onions and started to plant them today. So far I've planted 162 red onions that I started off in small pots. Its a fiddly business cutting holes in the membrane and planting through it etc, but I'm sue it will be worth it if it keeps the weeds at bay. I got the membrane from Discount UK, but I've also got some from Poundland.

Put in row of Kestrel spuds. Took some more tom seedlings to allotment greenhouse as they are starting to get leggy on the windowsill.
Put the hose on and soaked some dry beds with wilted crops in them.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Sowed some peas and courgettes then went to my friend's garden and finished digging the last of the grass from round the edge of the veg garden. Put up a small fence to keep the dogs out then levelled it and made 2 small lasagne beds at the wet end. Watered everything there then came home and did the same here.A life is like a garden.
