Just finished 'operation cover up' of my potatoes etc ahead of what might be a frost tonight. My tomato seedlings have spent another few hours outside hardening off, forgot to put the sweetcorn with them doh
Moved plants out of the greenhouse Picked up dead slugs and snails
Planted a Peony Did some weeding
Filled pots ready to plant more seeds tomorrow Put down more slug pellets
Moved plants back into the greenhouse
Popped down the lotty after work on way to the chippy (well it is Friday) and played catch the fly away fleece. Covered the potatoes and swiss chard which is still going strong since last summer. Moved everything away from the windows in the greenhouse. Fingers crossed frost wont get this far south.
Weeded around my raspberry canes, planted a few spuds on the abandoned allotment next door (:0 naughty) and sowed some goldenacre cabbage seeds (on my own allotment)
My Autumn 2016 blog entry, all about Plum Glut Guilt:

Me too (yesterday) . . . was in two minds as the forecasts were mixed, so went for the safe option and covered them up.
Later today I'll be chopping down my nice healthy green Winter Field Beans, will be a bit of a shock I guess to lose all that greenery back to bare earth.
Yesterday had the tree surgeon look at my trees in the view to chopping some down they've all grown much to large and eventually my garden will become a forest floor if I don't get them removed. A lovely curly willow is going and a couple of ash trees..oh well with a little work I may manage to plant some new ones in during the Autumn.
This morning I strimmed the areas of the veg patch that aren't planted up yet but that are getting just a bit too grassy, nettley and dandelion-infested.
Cleaned the glass panes that are over my carrot micro-seedlings.
Put a large piece of card from our new bed delivery over one of the cleared areas.
Planted up a tray of odds and ends for microgreens.
Got a phone call to say that an allotment has become available and do I still want one? Well, duh! I'm so excited! They only do half plots at this site but apparently it's one of the larger plots and it's only a 2 minute walk from my house. I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow. Finally I will have somewhere to plant all my cauli's and calabrese.
Quickly weeded round the onions and strawberries, but didn't want to stay out too long....big clouds of mayflies getting everywhere, especially in my hair and down my T shirt. I know they're only harmless, but after a while it felt a bit freaky.
Looks like the frost has nipped my early taters , that'll teach me not be so lazy , should've covered em up .......busy day down the lottie , with loads of help from Ella the spaniel (NOT) .
Broad beans staked and tied , peas are growing like crazy . All is good with the world..
