      • Moved a mountain of branches ready for cutting up, had a bladdy puncture on wheelbarrow so fixed that. Buried 10mts pipe to the stream, linked it to the pond & covered it. Ran the overflow from the waterbutt into the kite..........holes yet to be put in the pipe..........that's enough for one day, have got to leave something for tomorrow.

        • Worked in Hospice garden this morning, planting up geraniums, worked with other volunteers, so good fun.

Hosed my potatoes, that had collapsed, rain didn't really happen.

Sowed Borlotti beans, cane ones this time, also mini cucs, more runners, little dumpling squash and yellow squash ( patty pan).

          • Sloped off work early and took the strimmer to the last unkept part of the plot. In addition to mine helped the old chap on the next plot clear his paths.

            Ordered some more debris netting

            • Cleared the ground below the neighbour's wire netting fence and planted some Blauschokker (?sp) and another blue pea (whose name I've forgotten already) against it. Next to a row of sweet peas.
Admired the first flower to open on the Bijou mangetout - pink and maroon - so beautiful it rivals sweet peas.
Ate an enormous strawberry, almost the size of Wales.................exaggerate, who me?

              • Dug five large trug fulls of homemade compost and tipped it onto my greenhouse raised bed.
Planted out six Gardeners Delight in it and five Alicante tomato plants.

Weeded a small onion bed and one of my strawberry beds.

                • Lots of mange tout sown. My eldest lad likes grazing them when in the garden and they will be ready for the school hols. Lots of courgette and winter squash planted out and I got the decking finished. Today I am rather poorly so will be mainly lounging.

                  • Ha! Mainly lounging too, I had an operation yesterday and can't get out of bed really frustrating as the weather is lovely, I'm off work and would like to be in my garden!! I planted trays of cosmos seedsand gypsophila seeds on Monday an dim hoping I'm not too late for them. I also have cornflower and nigella seeds to plant which I'm hoping I'm well enough to do in the next few days, if I get my husband to set up the compost etc for me so I don't have to bend!!
I have been productive towards my garden today though, before my op I was organised enough to take photos of lots of plants in my garden that I'm struggling to identify, I'm afraid I have begun to post them all on here in the hope that some of you clever, green fingered people can help me trouble is I think the amount of pics will put you all off

                      • Planted out tomatoes, cucumber, pumpkin and courgette. It's a little early really as night time temps aren't *quite* high enough, but the plants were getting ridiculously big to be indoors. It was really difficult transferring them without snapping bits off as it was (and I didn't entirely succeed) - any bigger and I don't think I could have done it without causing lots of damage.

Tomorrow I have melothrie and sunflowers to plant out.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                        • Fed and watered everything.
Looked impatiently at the flower buds on the Duke of York haulms and willed them to open so that I can have a furtle. They are taunting me now, with their enormous leaves and tiny little buds.
Cut down some more of the ivy clinging to our garden wall. I'm killing it off bit by bit, until enetually ai can get down to the root. So far, I've cleared nearly one half of the wall. I just cut through the branches and wait for bits to die off before cutting it back.
Topped up the compost bin and gave it a stir. It's heating up nicely.

                          • Put all the bedding plants out in the front garden.
Planted up three hanging baskets for out the front.
Planted five Gardeners Delight Toms into ring culture pots in the back garden. Taking a chance as not properly hardened off and they are not particularly tall but they are safely tucked in with two layers of fleece for overnight

                            • Finished work n nipped into "Lottie" on way home to water the toms!

Got "Dive Bombed" in the "Poly" by this beast!

Not got a clue what it is, but was huge!

Then home! Feed, washed n watered!

                              Then "Reccied" the estate!

The Iris "Germanica" rescued from work which were looking sad as all my rescued jobbies do, are now putting up growth!

And the "Slug Fodder" potted "Hosta's" are looking good!

A sad way to come about plants! But there free!

                              • Planted out Borage.Just for daftness I planted a couple of plants in the top of a 6 inch diameter pipe four foot long filled with compost.
Planted some peppers in large pots which will stay on the greenhouse staging. Used home made compost only.
Climbing peas and climbing beans are proving very slow to germinate in modules and are coming up in ones and two's. if they don't get a move on i think I'll just sow the rest direct.
