    • - 4hrs weeding after all the rain (22mm)
      - chopped up my green manures along with the weeds, leaving them all on the beds as mulch
      - sowed 2 packs of trefoil green manure in any bare ground
      - planted out another 2 pumpkins & a tray of beans
      - cut 3 lettuce for dinners (I'm eating it in place of carbs, eg. rice/pasta)
      - cutting so many flowers now our house looks like a funeral home
      - sowed some chitted seeds out of an Aldi butternut: results not guaranteed, but worth a punt
      - tidied my shed ! I can now find things

      • Spilt Comfrey tea all down my leg.....cant think why people gave me strange looks and gave a wide birth when getting lunch in Morrison's

Feed the brassica's and just generally potter around.

              • Weeding, weeding and more weeding. I've put Florence fennel in final positions, they were all bunched together, I must have dropped the seed lol. Planted out 6 sweet corn as that's all that germinated in first sowing, second sowing hasn't faired much better. Repotted 2 tomatoes.

My front bed is heavy clay so I dug a bit and got a wheelbarrow of grass/leaves, dug that in and then planted 3 tomatoes in it, not sure how they'll do.

Earthed up my potatoes, mooched about a bit, cussed the plum tree. Now going to pick some spinach and then home I think, it looks like rain.

                  • Watered the garden and prayed that the seedlings just starting to push through keep motivated.

                    • Today's the first day in what feels like weeks that I've been able to spend some proper time in the veg patch. So, I...

weeded the artichokes, carrots and peas
strimmed, and refilled the strimmer spool (hate job!)
planted out three more tomato plants, then came in and found one I'd forgotten - it can wait til next time
                      planted out four melothrie plants
planted out two celery plants that have regrown from supermarket stubs
planted out the kohl rabi that got away last time
pulled out loads of nettles, sticky weed and brambles
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                      • Planted out red and green cabbage (thanks again JeanieD) and cauli. Potted on cabbage and cauli. Potted on sprouts. Harvested a bunch of radishes and planted out beetroot. Doesn't sound much when you say it quick, but I'm shattered

                        • Weeded, removed scale bugs infesting my bay tree then spent far to much time faffing around with the chilli and sweet pepper plants that I'd over wintered.

                          • Planned to spend the day weeding on the allotment but our niece stayed last night and she really didn't look keen when we said that's what we were doing. So begrudgingly got the bus to town and went to museums instead.
On the plus side this meant we walked past a bargain book shop and got an RHS book for £3 that should have been £20 so am a happy bunny after all

                            • Managed to get a few jobs done around my plot, but looking at my other plot where I sowed Alfalfa, I don`t quite know what I`m looking at! as it`s the first time ever for growing green manure, I`m convinced I bought a packet of weeds.....

                              • Planted out some Climbing French beans, courgettes and sweetcorn
Did more weeding - will it ever be free of hogweed, dock and nettle?
