        • Big planting out day for me. French beans, squashes, courgettes, and tomatoes. Only one bed left to fill now, the climbing bean bed.

            • Planted out my courgettes. Strawberries forming nicely , just need some sun to ripen them up. Tomatoes planted outdoors, Peas are forming nicely too. This is all in between the showers/ downpours . Harvested some salad leaves and wild rocket for tea

              • Another peeing wet day today. Apart from the fun stuff I really have to pull up some weeds along our front fence that are embarrassingly tall, but every time I had a good opporrtunity to do it, the heavens opened. Bloody weather. I desperately need to plant out some stuff too, but it's just too boggy out there.

However, I did manage to pot on aubergine, melothrie, tomato, coriander and basil today, and then palmed off a basil onto DD's friend's mother Delighted to notice that one of my borage seeds has germinated after literally a couple of months - I'd long given up on it!
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

Yuk, that's why I always give my compost bin a kick before I take the lid off, I'm scared one might jump out at me!

                            • Snipped off a bite sized cuke from my plant that was doing so wonderfully well and somehow managed at the same time to cut the main stem, about 4 inches above soil level. There was 5 foot of growth above that with lots of young cukes in progress. Snipped off the growing tip and placed it in a glass of my bitter salty tears in the hope it will root and I'll still get cukes later in the summer.

                              • Rain finally stopped so went down to the allotment to find my once 2 foot weeds are now between 5 and 6 feet! Why do the plants I want to grow not grow this fast!?
On the plus side the patch that was weeded is still clear, not a single weedling in sight 😊
