      • Lovely day at the plots, planted some KW peas, with some Asparagus Peas waiting to be planted out in the green house, all my Toms are going great, have had a few Sugargolds....sooo sweet! the Strawbs being in pots in the green house are slow to produce, but fast in runners!Weeded around the carrots, but not so many this time, I guess this helps with having them in a raised bed.
I have been given a couple of cucumbers in pots which are going great guns, do I move them out or leave them in?
Seeded some carrots into a potatoe bag, compost at the bottom followed by No 1 on top, they have quickly germinated but I`m concerned about how much to water them and when, if anyone else has grown them this way I`d like to know how you faired.
That`s it for now, lots more to do tomorrow.

        • Snipped off 6 strawberry runners and potted them up. First time I've ever tried it.

            • Went to the allotment at 6.30 this morning as I've tons to do. I've been at work for 4 days this week so first job was weeding. Then onto the good stuff. I planted 2 rows of cauliflowers (14 plants) 1 row of squadron cabbage (7 plants) 1 row of autumn cabbage (7 plants). Only takes a few minutes to plant but nearly an hour to net the flipping things

We had a skip delivered yesterday so this morning from about 8.30 we cleared all the rubbish off my new plot Sorted. This afternoon I did some harvesting for tomorrow's dinner. I'l nip over to the harvest thread now.

              • Cleared and dug out a massive bed, and planted three courgette plants, four butternut squash and two Hokkaido squash plants. Also planted two tomato plants (Grushovka) and shoved a few more purple-podded peas in the ground.

Also accidentally killed a slow worm when I was digging. Still really upset about it.

I bought some tomato seeds called Supermarmande when we were over in Belgium last year. I guess they must be super-huge! Have you ever come across them, Nicos?

                  • No I don't think so....I think I have just presumed they were the same thing just grown in better conditions.
Certainly not seen any seeds for sale apart from the standard Marmande.

Will keep my eyes peeled from now on though!

                      - comfreyed the fruiting stuff: peas, broadies, spuds & courgettes, 20 litres per square metre (ish)
                      - picked another 3 sweet peas, and armfuls of philadelphus

Your stuff looks really great, Deano. And thanks so much for offering

But I think I'm okay now - I admit I went to the garden centre to buy replacements!

I'll let you know what sort of tomatoes I get from them. If any - my tommies aren't doing too well this year!
