Put some polycarb in the cold frame I picked up on Freecycle yesterday and set it up at the end of the GH. Filled it with seedlings - mostly spare tomatoes
Created a bed alongside the GH and planted 10 different varieties of squash and courgette there.
Had to dig out a vintage redcurrant and a grapevine to make space but they were a bit too large for their own good.
Put several redcurrant branches in a bucket of water - they should root and I'll have a row of redcurrants instead of one extra large one.
I wish I could throw things away instead of turning everything I prune into a cutting!

Yesterday I dug up some redcurrant prunings that I struck in my finished compost frame last winter as they all rooted and now I need to use the compost. Now where to put six more???
Picked up all the remaining junk from the allotment (mostly carpet); filled 6 x 60-litre compost bags with it and loaded up the car ready to go to the tip tomorrow. It's only taken me 15 months!
I saved a bit of weed fabric and a piece of carpet to create a new luxury lounge area:
The bed that is now available to dig is unfortunately so compacted I can't get a fork into it. Maybe it will soften up after rain now that the carpet has gone...
I bought some tomato seeds called Supermarmande when we were over in Belgium last year. I guess they must be super-huge! Have you ever come across them, Nicos?
Today I asked a guy selling 70 varieties of tomato plants about Supermarmande tomatoes espesh for Noosner!
Yes, the seeds do exist, but from a specialist seed seller...nowhere local I'm afraid, but at least you know they do exist!
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Today I put up supports for tomatoes, finally finished the drive and sowed 4 packets of night scented stock. Made a good start on sorting out the mess in the garage.
Dogs have masters, cats have slaves, and horses are just wonderful
Noticed that the only two fruits on my cherry tree have disappeared I think the poor conversion of blossom to fruit was lack of pollinators, so it's out with the paintbrush next year, but I was hoping to get to try at least one of the three fruits that did convert. One fell off, and I was robbed of the other two Three years I've had that tree, and still not tasted any fruit from it (this was the first year it blossomed)
worked Saturday morning but then did manage to get to the lottie. Pulled up Mares Tail and generally weeded. Watered everything and scattered some growmore pellets about. I picked a bowls worth of Strawberries which my youngest son hoovered up when I got home. I didn't even get a look in. Discovered I've got a blackcurrent bush as one had ripened. Not sure if they are all blackcurrents.
I chatted to the lady committee member about the plot next door, it is literally covered in Mares Tail, which is creeping on to my plot. They want someone to take it on as its by the clubhouse and everyone walks passed it. No one will cos of the weed problem so they are gonna blast it maybe with some super stuff of the internet. I told her if it was still available when the rent is due I'll take it. She said I was bonkers. I told her i'd only take it if they sorted the Mares tail lol, I'm not that daft.
A bonus of keeping bees in your garden is that a lack of set fruit on trees is not down to a lack of pollinators. My plum, apples and pear are loaded, the cherry however has 6 cherries. I cant argue as it was only planted last autumn and is an Aldi special.

Thanks for asking, Nicos!
