      • Got down there fairly early and did some digging in the new patch; the soil's getting a bit dry and rock-like, and it's as much mint and bindweed root as soil, so it's slow going, but it needs doing. Relocated a slow worm away from where I was working; I didn't see any last year, and I'm fairly sure I've seen three different ones on there this year already!

Ate a few strawberries and the first few raspberries, then walked round the park at the back of the allotment to see if the wild raspberries are ready yet. The first few were, and it looks like there'll be a good crop soon!

Dug out the München Bier radish, (grown for seed pods)- it overwintered before flowering, and got enormous- way taller than me! Sadly I just couldn't keep up with picking the pods as it was such a silly size, and they'd started getting too tough.

Picked all the ripe red currants- I think the white ones are ripe too, but it's a bit harder to tell with them.

        • Full watering session (proper full on drenching), whilst followed around the garden very closely by, and having to explain my every movement to, my neighbour's young daughter. Oh well, her mum got an hour's peace and quiet I suppose

          • No watering today trying to save my water! Weeded the border in front of my kitchen window.

            • Yesterday evening, repotted sweetcorn, tomato, Chinese chives and made a bean trellis type thing out of scraps of stuff around the garden

              • Yesterday planted out replacement cucumbers, sowed mangetout, petit pois, purple podded peas and a row of mangetout for shoots. Sowed carrots, radish, rhubarb chard.
Cleared ground where first lot of broad beans were ready for more brassicas.
Prepared melon patches. Started preparing leek bed - it has been mulched with leaves, weeds, and variously cardboard and plastic since the autumn - full of mole holes and tunnels so will have to have a little work.
                And watered.

                  • Lifted garlic - ok not fantastic harvest.
Sowed beetroot, pak choi, turnips, lettuces and winter lettuce, florence fennel.
Cut more of the grass path edges.
Watered ... I have half a day of waterbutt water left but we may get storms tomorrow.

                    • Potted on some swede into larger newspaper pots because I don't have space in the bed for them just yet.

                      • Lifted some small garlic.
Dug out all the slug eaten potatoes.
Made the beginnings of a dog unfriendly hedge (for my own dog to stop barking at next doors dog)
Weeded and dug some more allotment
Managed to get a shed for £20, and convince OH to go back again tomorrow to put it together for me
