I had it on the potatoes outside which I dug up and removed the tops, and then I sprayed all the outside toms with Bordeaux mixture. But I just couldn't believe it today to find blackened stems and dead leaves on at least five plants, even the cherry types. I have destroyed the affected plants but fear the worst for the remaining ones.

I can't think how the blight got into the tunnel unless from my hands and clothes. V bad news!
Sorry to hear Bertie, I know how gutted I was last weekend when I thought I has blight . Hope the remaining crops aren't effected .

      • Weeded then weeded, then weeded some more, the fed all the hanging baskets and tubs of sweet peas. Looked at my peas, still only 8 out of 50 peas planted.

              • Spent the last few days weeding - still loads more to do. Concentrating on the perennial weeds like the docks that are covered in millions of seeds, just waiting for me to turn my back and spread themselves about
Have been bagging up all the long grass as a present for the chickens. I'm leaving the tough weeds to crisp up in the sun (if it lasts) as a present for my neighbour. He'll burn them.
Its great being able to walk away from the mess and have a volunteer to clear up after me - even if he does keep strimming the rhubarb.

                • Lifted the autumn onions.
Garlic had bad rust and didn't look like swelling any more so lifted those up as well.
Onions and garlic both drying on wire in the polytunnel.
Began clearing the weeds in my raspberry patch. What a mess

                      • I wish. It's chucked it down all day, got drenched going to the shop for milk and that's 30 seconds from the house

                        • Gosh...I wish it would finally rain here and give everything a good soak so I don't need to. Every day the dark grey clouds come over and then disappear...without a splatter of rain.

So....I watered watered watered. Then planted out some more dwarf French beans. I've just realised I forget to slug pellet them...so maybe all that hard work will have been for nothing when I turn up early doors tomorrow. Did a tiny bit of weeding as I watered....but this weekend will be a mass weeding weekend....long long over due.

                          • Yesterday, weeded and mulched the strawberry bed, planted out greyhound and red cabbage, was ruthless in the greenhouse with the tomatoes! Today, later, more weeding and planting I hope.

                              • Raining, at last, but not much. Planted out dozens of ophiopogon for my black low maintenance front "lawn".
Planted more box & hebe in the gaps in my hedging; bought more compost (PF)
Decided on lobelia as "filling" for the box circles.
Loads more holly prunings for the chiminea
