Not much in the garden today, little bit of moving round the tomatoes and re staking the heavier by the day trusses. Have used all our container potatoes, so will be digging them up as we go now. Got a big spud baking in the oven and a sweetcorn cob ready in the microwave, just add the sausages, yummy

My niece and her lovely children came down the allotment with me today. It was great watching them discover where real growing food comes from. Especially when they dug up some of my "pink fir apple" potatoes up. They went away happy with a goody bag of fresh veg!

Its chucking it down in Hampshire today so a planning day is in order I think! Yesterday on the lotty I mowed the grass, gave the greenhouse the once over (high winds forecast today), weeded the wild flower garden that that had turned into the wild dead flower garden, picked some autum raspberries, picked more cucumber and picked our first melon which is a first for us and was absolutely lovely really juicy and very orange.......oh and picked more tomatoes!

Just had to rig up a support outside for my sweetcorn plants poor things are being battered by some mental wind! My courgette plant has been lifted out the bed and flying around the garden, thankfully all courgettes where eaten in yesterday's dinner from that plant and got a few more that I've just strapped down to stop the same happening to them! Oh this weather my poor plants are taking a beating may have to consider eying back out and putting all potted plants in the shed to keep them safe

Picked another 12 courgettes, 4 cucumbers, 6 peppers and 5 chillies. Thinned out the carrots - thinking its a bit too windy for carrot fly to be tempted out lol and got quite a few french beans and swiss chard.
Polytunnels seem to be bearing up to the wind so far.
Melon plants have finally got fruit on them. Just hoping theres still time for them to grow and ripen. What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

Have got the baking hat on and made summer fruit steamed sponge pud for tea, with raspberries and blackberries straight of the bush.
As cakes are so often mentioned on here I thought I'd make a batch of cupcakes too.
Only to find I had no jam, chocolate or fruit to put in them.
I found a jar of golden syrup so have put blobs of that in the middle of each one.....
Will see how they taste in about 30mins with a cuppa.

Unsuccessfully tried to 'right' the bean pyramids ( impressed with you 'Two Sheds').
Planted out broccoli and cauliflower, and covered with netting! Got soaked whilst doing this!
Sheltered in shed with, my Lottie neighbour, we must have looked very funny.
Picked runners, and prepared for freezer.
Picked more courgettes!
