peas and mange tout mix up

Hello everyone. I'm hoping one of you clever people could help me out. Trying to be good this year so I labelled the tops of my little propagators.. I thought oooh well done no wondering what on earth the seedlings would be this time... well I spoke too soon because a gust of wind blew the tops off and of course I couldn't remember which set was which. Any other time i'd just wait and see but it happens to be peas and mange tout and as they've both come up they look identical... is there any way of telling them apart or am I just going to have to wait and see later on ?? I don't think you can tell till they come. Even then, the only sure way is that if you leave them till they are well grown pods, the peas will have smooth pods and the mangetout will fill out but will look knobbly. This is because the mangetout lacks the fibrous layer in the pod. By then, of course, they will be a bit far gone for eating shells and all - but only a few will have matured to this stage before you know. You can eat the rest as mangetout and the over-mature ones you can still shell out and eat the peas inside.
