What's your favourite to grow???

What vegetable/fruit to grow maybe not heavy cropper or easy to grow but just gives you the most satisfaction and you just spend a little bit more time on this perticular plant than all the others?? Has your favourite change while trying new variatys or palnts ??witch one puts the biggest smile on your face when growing???
Must say have not been growing my own for very long but last year I loved growing my fennel and can't wait to see if I can get better results than last year not sure why I liked these plants more than the others they just looked really nice and maybe the excitement of watching the bulb grow above ground .. Please tell??? Very interested to find what others class as there foster plant??

I have to echo that - if there was only one thing I could grow it would be a few new spuds. There's nothing like freshly picked and podded peas though.

Potatoes-first furtle is soooo exciting.

Yup, agree with all the above, but I think growing my own Garlic gives me the most satisfaction. I'm still using last years crop which should last me nicely till this years is ready. It always makes me smile when I see the tiny wizened little bulbs in the supermarket at 50 pence a pop to know that I've got a string of big fat juicy ones hanging up in the garage

I love growing different winter squash/pumpkins.........but the one crop I would never be without is runner beans

There's nothing like freshly picked and podded peas though.

Second that I grew peas last year and they were very enjoyable to grow although not many made it throughout the summer as I loved picking the fresh shoots for my salads thay taste great in a salad that amazing fresh pea taste running through A leaf salad ..

Growing runner beans for first time this year didn't really like them as I grew up but think fresh from the garden should taste totally different to those woody things you buy in the shop..

There are so many but for me it has to be new potatoes, second is tomatoes, third is peas, fourth is cukes and you get the picture!

Trying cucumbers for first time this year see how it goes hopefully il get some nice ones

I really like my strawberries and sweetcorn, have done them for quite a few years now and enjoying trying different varieties. However, this is the first year i've tried runner beans and they are only 2" tall but I am loving them already

For me it has to be Toms, (favorite) Moneymaker.

Followed by Radish, Ok they are easy but such great taste.

Yer must confess I grow moneymakers for there shear volume but then grow a few Luther to try until I find a variety I like that has a good yeald as don't have loads a room to grow 40odd plants
And love my strawbs started with two now have about fifty and a few alpines with about 25 that I'm growing from seed from last years end of season berries that went quite ripe
