Raised beds would definately help, but interesting point from stig, then again, I have planted them in spring before and I don't remember more of them being single cloves, just a bit later...anyhow, this is getting off the subject of leggy seedlings!

If you are planting Dwarf Bens now in pots then you will need to make sure that you can use cloches for protection when they are planted out. DB need a soil temp of ten degrees C. to grow. (like bedding) Light v temp if wrong can produce leggy beans. If its warm outside then its OK but bring them in at teatime and put them somewhere thats around ten degrees. A bit of work in and out but if you want early beans!!

I seem to spend most of April and May running back and forth from the dining table to the greenhouse morning and night - but it does mean I get a good start for my plants. You have to suffer for your art (or something!)
