I am confused about water logging tomato plants, if I use a drip irrigation system will the plants not be water logged?

Is there simply a fine line between damp and water logged?

    Thanks

if water comes out the bottom of the pot or the pot is constantly sitting in water, it's waterlogged. If it doesn't, it's damp
If it's a growbag, make slits about an inch off the floor, that way, you keep a constant mositure, butexcess will drain away.

As long as you have drainage holes in the pots they should be fine. In fact on a hot day when the tomatoes are cropping you may have to supplement the drip system.

What you don't want is plants sitting permanently in water: they need air as well as water at the roots. A drainage aid like vermiculite/perlite will help to hold both air & water in the compost.
