    Ahem

I'm sending you some oregano. Or am I?

Ahh, you misunderstand me. My point is that once I've sent the rhubarb seed, I can't do any more than that. I'm asking for advice so I can collect the seed in the best condition possible. After that, it's out of my hands. It's not relevant to me whether it fails to germinate, grows Timperley Early, or grows into a huge mutant man-eating rhubarb plant. I can't do anything about that.

      Please don't send me bindweed.

I can't see why everyone is so negative to someone wanting to save Rhubarb seed, it seemed a simple question.
        I love growing tomatoes.

I don't think anyone's negative about saving seed, people are just pointing out the pitfalls.

What is concerning some people is that a seed swap is occurring in which it might be viewed that someone's being duped. Mr BE isn't being malicious, and he is a darn good laff, but he's possibly setting himself up for a fall later on if he wants to swap seeds...?

But if you're happy to have rhubarb seed that isn't what it might seem, then everyone's happy

Both Mr BE and I are aware that the seed may not be true, I'm happy to accept that and he is happy to do a swap with me, so there is no problem about being duped.

                Do these look ready yet?

Are they the seeds, or are they seed pods?

From what I remember, those are the seeds, but you need to wait until they are dry.

Do I let them dry on the plant, or cut the stalk off and leave it in the shed? I just worry about getting up one morning to find they've all dispersed.

Let them dry on the plant, you should have plenty of time to pick them.

they won't disperse that easily, leave them alone a bit more.
