  • Feeding rhubarb

I thought my rhubarb had died but have spotted new growth today. What should I give it as a feed? I have some bags of farmyard manure or I have well rotted horse muck available - which is best to chuck on top of it please. I have two crowns, one each in large bucket/planters - planted last year into more or less pure poop, I didn't pick anything from them last year and I am now looking forward to a crumble or pie worth!!

Any of it will me fine as RHubarb is a hungry feeder Shirl. just pile some around the crowns and the rain will doo the rest.

I inherited some on my new plot and have just aquired a bottomless galvanised water butt to make a forcer for it so looking forward to my own Rhubarb

Thanks NTG - will go put some of the bagged farmyard manure on as it will look nicer - OH won't mind eating it if it looks like soil round it

You got me there!! I meant if he sees it growing in soil (but of course you knew that was what I meant)

I like mine with an eggcup of sugar to dunk the stalk of rhubarb in!
