My spuds not that long in so they won't be a problem. Have tomatoes in my glasshouse at plot and took a parafin heater down there earlier this evening so hopefully that will keep things ticking over.

My earlies got frosted this time last year ......but they bounced back and we had a pretty decent crop . I couldn't get up to the lottie tonight so they'll either survive or they won't. Not a lot I can do. Stuff at home hopefully should be ok as we're pretty well sheltered with brick walls which help retain the heat.

Metcheck is saying -4c for us tonight, so I hope a double layer of fleece on the spuds is enough Only had enough leftover to do a single layer on one lot of the strawberry plants, and a plastic sheet over the other lot, so I guess they'll struggle to keep their flowers

Well we got down to -5.5c, I haven't been able to take the buckets off the toms in the GH yet, or any fleece off anything outside, as my backs gone and I can't bend down. Need to wait for the painkillers to set in.

Well could have been worse, but it's not good.
I've lost all the plums and pears by the looks of it. The fig, kiwi and mulberry have lost all their growth.
The potatoes have been hit a bit, even after being very well covered.

But the toms in the GH seem to be ok. Even though it went down to -1.3c and that's with 2 candle/terracotta heaters going! I put buckets over the toms as well and it seems to be that which made the difference. They look much better than they did yesterday, when it only got to 0c in there.

We tried this a few years ago, with a Choisya when we moved house. It had been a wedding present, so we wanted to keep it. Sadly it didn't work, but it might have been because it went down to -19C

I feel sorry for those that have been hit by the hard frosts. I was really lucky and we were "only" 4.5C last night.
