  • Squash - yellow leaves

Not sure what this could be, they were just potted on about a week ago, so unless they've exhausted the compost already could it be high temps in the greenhouse? Hoping to start hardening them off, but they're a bit leggy so have been waiting for the wind to die down. Watering from beneath, compost may look a little on the dry side, but the compost beneath the top is moist, pots are reasonably weighty so I dont think they've been over/underwatered? Could it be root damage when potting on?

The 2nd pic shows a true leaf just coming out looking a little yellow.

Sorry the focus is off - rubbish phone camera.

Apparently it's because the plant is stressed. Here's a link for you chris, it explains it better than I can. But if it's any conciliation mine are turning yellow as well. I'm going to add a little veg plant food to there water to see if that helps.

Looks none too clever Chris, because they grow so quickly I'd be tempted to chuck 'em and start some more off. That sounded a bit harsh - why not start some more off in case those ones don't recover?

I've sown some more, but I don't have all the varieties Iw ant to grow - boo.

I wonder if it's because they got leggy.. I'll see if they recover... if anything they'll be useful to supress weeds on the lottie.

        thanks for the info

Mine have done the same Chris....

I am also in the same boat as you as in I dont have all the varieties left to sow

I am just going to give them a little feed and keep fingers crossed.

          Good luck. x

Mine have done this a bit (and the tomatoes also) - I'm guessing they've run out of food in the small pots, so gave them a feed. Will be planting out at end of weekend, so they'll have much more of a chance in the beds! I'm assuming they will recover - courgettes seem pretty resilient and determined to grow?

Maybe its to do with low night time temps and very high daytime temps?
What are the shoots looking like? maybe they will recover? I would give them a chance.
