  • moving garlic

    hi all,
i read somewhere that you can move your garlic plants as long as you keep most,(if not all roots) attached and leave a little soil on them. i have done this 2 weeks ago and my garlic is looking very sorry for itself. its all gone droopy and yellow. have i killed them off or is this normal? has anyone else ever moved there garlic before and if so did you have much success. im regreting doing it now as they were doing really well before i moved them, i only had to move them so i could fit my new polytunnel where they were. any advice welcome.
    thanks

All you can do now is water them well & cross your fingers

I have moved plants that are actively growing (as opposed to dormant) and they don't like it, but some recover. I did it this week with half a dozen aquilegia that I took to school: I sacrificed the top growth in order to help the roots get established, but obviously you can't do that with veggies)
