I grew 'em last year, they did grow very large - I think about 4' at least. They were outside..got a couple of fruit, nowt great... year before had a HUGE one! I think it was mm... i didnt remove the male flowers, so it went bitter!
I had marketmore 2 years ago growing in flower buckets on the window ledge of the upstairs front room i planted too early so they got too big to move once frost had gone, when they got too big i eventualy let them out of the window to grow down the house ,i got lots of cucumbers per plant but needed a ladder outside to get them,
the ones i put outside in july ( same seeds same compost etc ) were fine looked healthy but got one cucumber on them between 3 plants , im keeping them indoors this year
I didnt remove male flowers, inside i polinated them , i thought with marketmore / ridge types you needed the male flowers, its just the greenhouse varietys that need male taking off ( im probably wrong though )
Hi all - mine are ready size-wise to go out. Anyone had experience of these? Best outside and if so any wisdom to pass on please?!
Thanks in advance!
I've grown MarketMore for years indoors and outdoors. Always cropped well, too well sometimes. I just grow them up canes and dont even bother with the male/female flower business,I just leave 'em to it and they do really well.

Its my second year growing them and they did fairly well in buckets I leave them to climb up a piece of trellis, planted mine out this afternoon into trug but it will be staying in the greenhouse overnight for a few days.
Rich ground and damp often, never can have too much compost or manure IMO, protect from wind. Basically cosset and pamper them
Some of mine do well and some not, it seems a bit of a lottery.
Mine are out already btw, for a week or two. Some are under cloches and some not, just with 4 x 2 litre milk bottles filled with water round them. Keeps off the worst of the wind and hopefully may make it a bit warmer at night.
I did the same last year and they grew on fine and early.

I'm growing marketmore up canes in my blowaway, my early one is already about 3feet high with a few fruit showing already, the other is just starting about 6 inches high, but both seem to like it in there, first time for me with cucs too.
I'm trying marketmore cucmbers for the first time this year too, too be honest it's the first year i've grown lot's of different veg and salads, and they're all going brilliant. Ive got 4 mmore cuc's in my green house growing fantastic, and one thats already outside but is actually lagging way behind the indoor ones. They are all in pots approx 8" dia, and 4" deep, will they be ok in these or should i re home them in something bigger???
I started my cucumber in early feb and it's been out in gh all year so far it's maybe 4ft high and just as wide at last count yesterday I had almost 40 cucumbers on it with about 5the size of pencils must put up a pic so you can see .so glad I didn't grow any more as this one will give us all the cues we need all through summer and maybe autum and will still have to give sum away at this rate my first try with cucumbers .can't believe how big this is growing it just gets visibly bigger every day a check the gh .will need to take out the staging and put it at the bottom on the floor soon so it has more room to grow ..although we have had a very warm spring and summer so far and I'm quite lucky to be almost as far south as you can get in England ..can't wait to try my first cucumber that I have grown my self...
