I am desperate to get my tall potted sweetcorn seedlings (ha ha) into the allotment but these horrifically brutal winds are making me nervous. Anyone else planted yet and how are they surviving?

I put mine out at the beginning of last week, and they were doing fine... I'm off down to the plot in a few minutes (on me bike, how mad must I be!), so I'll report back once I've seen them today. I put bottle cloches over virtually all of them (ran out of bottles), so I suspect a few of those will be in the next parish! They are in the most sheltered spot available though, so I'm hoping they are surviving. Watch this space...Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

I assumed I'd lost my packet of fifty sweetcorn seeds so bought and planted fifty more. Today I started planting things out from my pollytunnel and found the other fifty gorwing happily behind four huge tomato plants. I am going to have one hell of a lot of sweetcorn this year!D.O.B 24/12/65
