brown ends on squash

hi
sorry if this has been mentioned before. Last year most of my squash began to get brown where the flower dropped off and it spread to the whole of the developing fruit.i put it down to the weather but it is happening to one of my courgette plants. What is causingit do you think?

I'm with pies on this one I think. Would help to know where you are growing them (e.g. open ground / containers).

thanks for the help.I am growing them in open ground. plenty of bees etc. The courgette in question this year seems to be ok now. however last year I lost quite alot of my squash fruit to this problem.

This happens a lot when the weather is cool early on - take them off, compost them and more will come
