Last year's pong is still full of nutrients, doesn't smell as bad as freshly made one(OH refuses to go to the GH if pong is in use)
Apart from brassicas I gave some nettle pong to onions-they are growing like mad now, some herbs in pots-mint.
Tomatoes are just picking up(still a bit sulky from cold).I intend to water my lettuces with it.

I made a mistake! I've re-read the article and it has one bucket of comfrey leaves in 15 litres of water, hence you have already diluted it so can use it undiluted IYKWIM. Sorry and doh!

Yes, it does. However, it's not the only thing that will: garden compost does the same job, and you have far more control over what goes in it (I'm thinking weed seeds, aminopyralid, antibiotics etc)

As it gets more.. erm mature... it gets darker and stronger, so if you dilute it to weak tea colour, then you should always get around the right strength.
If you keep it till the next year, it does lose it's smell, but not anything else.

I have a huge pot which has been going for a couple of years at least. Just put another load of comfrey in it and by gum I always forget how it smells when made fresh Fed the whole greenhouse yesterday and it smells great!! Sort of like an open sewer

Oh yes and always stir the bin before you take any out and don't use a rose on the end of the watering can.

I'm pioneering the use of organic bananas in the stew this year to see what will happen. I have no idea, but nothing is dying yet.

Great thread! Had my nettle soup brewing about a week now, and planted my comfrey root sections about a week ago, anyone know how long it takes for the comfrey to start sprouting out of the compost?
I cant believe im excited about growing comfrey! lol

A week or two in this warm weather (if kept dampish at first)
Don't cut it too much in its first year, let the root build up. You can go and forage for wild comfrey, and/or borage and nettles while you wait.
