  • Courgette Gold Rush: should the leaves be yellow too?

Has anyone grown these who can tell me if this is normal for 'Gold Rush'? I'm worried they aren't happy, what can I do?

I thought it might be they were hungry, so I have been feeding them with dilute Tomorite, but they haven't improved. I also have a green 'Defender' nearby and it's staying green.

Or maybe my slug pellets are poisoning them?

No, your slug pellets aren't poisoning them, but you are using far too many. You just need a sprinkle.

Yeah, um well, they all just sort of fell out of the bottle.

They may have got a bit cold. My ones in the ground are doing that too. I personally wouldn't be too worried as they look fairly healthy otherwise.

Many of the yellow courgettes naturally grow yellowy leaves. Some are so attractive, that you can use them in a flower border. Nothing to worry about.

My yellow ones have yellow leaves.. treated exactly the same as my normal green ones - so I'm putting it down to the fact that they have yellow leaves

Whew, what a relief, didn't know what was wrong.
Thanks for that, I will stop frowning at them and start smiling now!

my gold rush has one very yellowy leaf, two that were sacrificed to the slugs and three new green leaves. If you won't worry about the yellow I won't either!

I never put slug pellets down for seedlings at that age; they are usually too old for the slugs to be interested in them once they get that big.
