The tomato is naturally a bushy sprawling plant and it is our desire to grow cordons that go against its natural habit so the plant will often push out side shoots. I have been growing the variety Costeluto Fiorentino for the first time this year and some of the plants have persisted in dividing into 2 flower bearing leaders of equal size and strength. It is impossible to decide which one to remove so I let them grow..
