  • It's Raining Rain, Hallelluia, It's raining Rain!

It started to drizzle a bit yesterday late morning and has built up to a good, steady, joined up, rain ever since! It's the first 'proper' rain for weeks and it's wonderful, even if I do have a flood outside the back door!

Likewise here yesterday. Resisted the urge to dance in it but it was more than welcome, a whole 10mm in one go. Butts now full again and things look better already. Overcast today, are we going to get some more?

It's fabulous! Everything is getting a real good soaking and my water butts are now topped back up again. Even the chickens seem to be enjoying the opportunity it provides for worm hunting.

Here's one for those of you getting wet today then:

Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing-'Oh how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade,
While better men than we go out and start their working lives
At grubbing weeds from gravel paths with broken dinner-knives. ~ Rudyard Kipling

Gosh, how I wish I could turn the weather map around everytime I see the forecast.Except 2 days this week the temperature has been around 11-12˚C during the day and down to 6 in the morning.Raining every day.Wasn't able to cut the grass for the last 3 weeks,OH hacked it with a strimmer on Friday(too long for the mower). Not too mention that my beans are still waiting in the seed packet.June,eh?or still March?

It started here yesterday too and went all night... and it's still drizzling now!
Everything needs it, but yesterday I was in the midst of rearranging all my containers/layout of the garden and ended up leaving everything all over the place as it started to rain too hard to stay out there! Then last night I remembered I had left a few plants on the ground that are normally on a table and had to run out to move them so they didn't get attacked by slugs or snails!!
Hard to believe just two days ago it was boiling hot (25 deg) and sunny!

I am truly sorry for those of you who have not had the weather and for whom it is still cold.
I can't stop gloating tho'. The well at the lottie is full again and everything has put on a burst of new growth. I would swear the sweetcorn is 6" taller

Had about four "cloud-burst" type showers today which - if they had lasted longer than four or five minutes, would have made a real difference, but the fact that they were so short and were interspersed with brilliant, hot sunshine AND high winds, meant the ground dried within minutes - DAMMIT!!!!
