  • Can I use 'nettle' feed on everything?

    Good morning all,

Well today is the big day. I'm going to decant my nettle feed .

I know the ratio is 1 parts nettle to 10 parts water but can I use it to feed everything ?

I have tomatoes and chillis fruiting at the moment and would normally feed them a specific tomato feed.

The rest of the crops: potatoes, mangetout, french and runner beans, courgettes, carrots, parsnips, sweetcorn, spring onions, various salads and beetroot (as well as the winter squashes and pumpkins when they are fruiting), all recieve regular feeds of phostrogen.

Do I water the ground, the leaves or both with the nettle solution?

Many thanks for the anticipated advice and suggestions

Nettle brew is high in nitrogen. So anything you want to have lots of that.
Mainly green stuff and not fruiting stuff I would say.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

water the ground not the leaves. use it on anything that you eat the leaves of, brassicas, spinach, chard etc.
          use comfrey for fruiting plants.
carrots, parsnips, spring onions, beetroot dont' need hardly anything in the way of feeding, if at all.
