This summer's hot weather has brought the CWBs out in force, there are 100s flitting about the allotment.

I noticed they're very keen on verbena bonariensis & lavender, so I've planted some near out tap.
The CWBs are pretty easy to catch when they're feeding, with a kid's fishing net. This is one morning's catch.



I don't feel bad about killing them, they're hardly endangered. For every adult you kill you're saving yourself picking off 100s of caterpillars: the female will lay up to 600 eggs.

TY for drawing my attention to this two_sheds. Nice info in the video by vegmandan (especially the corner joins), I have already made a frame for my kale and a temporary tunnel for my other kale.

The temp tunnel I pushed some short bamboo sticks into the ground and used 2x 6ft lengths of black mdpe I had kicking about to make hoops.

After seeing this I intend to get to screwfix and then make some proper frames for my other brassicas - a small one for seedlings in cell trays and a couple of big uns for the ground.
