Do Annabelles flower?

I am growing Annabelles, Charlottes and Cara's.

The Charlottes and Caras are flowering nicely and look really good. But the Annabelles are showing no flowers at all. The foliage looks fine, but no flowers?

It's nearly time for them to come up as well and i'm finding no tubers when having a dig around.

How can the foliage look so good and healthy, yet there be no spuds?

How long have they been in ?

First earlies such as Annabelles need 10 to 12 weeks of good growing conditions.

If growing conditions are really good throughout the whole growing period they may be ready earlier; conversely poor growing conditions will lengthen the time.

I often find first earlies have small yields that are hard to find without carefully digging them up.

First early tubers often mature before flowering takes place, as do a lot of second earlies. It is mainly maincrop plants (but not all) that will flower before the tubers mature.

They have been in since the start of April. Would the 2nd week of July be a good time to have a look?

Good idea Rob, try to be patient. I think it was Flum that said not all potatoes flower, so that may not be an indication of when to lift them. Hope you get a good yield.
