I planted some cayenne chillies later than normal this year, and I'm a little disappointed as to how much height they haven't gained. In the past, I've had them at least a metre high-ish. This year they are barely 30 cm, but flowering. They may just need some time, and what with the weather, it is a bit shocking really.

I've never had a chilli plant grow as tall as a metre... but this year I'm using larger pots in an effort to get a better crop

Yep, i read some where that the size of the container impacted on the height and yield. So I put them in large containers as procured from poundland. I feared them being pot bound, having stunted growth. For two years, each years plants were approximately a metre tall, and about two feet wide. There were a lot chillies, green ones mind. Never went red. May well have been fluke, and too much nitrogen. They was leafy. I pulled them in as the winter crept in, and it was as though the kitchen had gone tropical. Still going to wait and see for this year.

Yup just have 2 flowers! But im happy with with, its the same plant i post in the pic at the top of the thread.

I was worried they were dying so 2 flowers (and a about 4 buds) is fantastic!!

My cayenne's have a lot of flowers, so im very excited about them turning into chillies!!
