Mushroom Advice for a First Time Grower

I have just got my first mushroom kit through the post and anxious as I am to get cracking I am really keen to make a success of it. The instructions detail options of either growing in or out, however the method described of doing it outside involves digging up a patch of lawn which isn't really an option.

What i'm after is success stories/advice to set me on my way. I'd really appreciate any advice on offer whether it be their whole intricate method to 'make sure you do X' or 'mine went wrong because of Y'.

I once tried growing from a kit and found it not cost effective, so didnt bother again.
However, have a look on Claires Video page.. she has 4 videos about growing them from a kit..

Funny I just thought to myself today to put a mushroom kit on my list of 'must try this next year' as they are something I enjoy eating and buy so many of them week after week!
The only knowledge I have on them is from watching some of Claire's videos on youtube months ago. So it will be interesting to see if any more people add their advice on here.
