When were they sown Colin? they must have been really early, I guess you could keep another crop successionaly growing, but would you need to if mini curds are generated? this is my first season on a plot and therefore it's the first time I've had room for this type of crop and I'm trying to gleen as much info as possible, have you ever had any failures with them?

VM - I always plant mine way too close together - first year was a real lesson as I packed everything in about 30cm each way (the next row was cauliflowers...) and although they tried to produce decent heads, there was just not enough air circulation and pretty much everything ruined with whitefly and black sap from some rotten bugs. So, last year I planted them about 50-60cm apart each way (I planned to plant further but I just can't bin good seedlings....!!) and I got a wonderful crop of medium sized first heads in about July and then squillions of side shoots, right through to the end of October when I had to out them to make room for my winter onions - but I think they would have carried on for another month or so as they were so good. Sideshoots gave two of us two meals a week (steamed/s'fry etc). Variety was Ironman. This year I'm trying Chevalier for a summer crop and Samson for an autumn crop. Hope this helps a bit
