One ball courgette

I have just took my first courgette from my plant and just wanted to know should i have left it a bit longer to grow bigger, will there be any diffrence in taste if i do?
Its a little bit bigger then a snooker ball.

tennis ball size used to be my guide but will still taste the same

That looks really nice .. I know with the normal green one if you pick them small they taste better bt don't know if that aplays to your type ..
