How long do carrots take to germinate?

    It depends when you sow them. I didn't get round to it till last week - they are up already. I've waited yonks when I sowed them in March or April.
    Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

        Yes!

        Our garden is surrounded by tall hedges - above head height and so, apparently, far too tall for the carrot fly - but they still get in, which is why we invested in fine netting.

            Your carrots will germinate as soon as you give up on them and plant something else in their bed!

              I took our first harvest at the weekend. I posted Pictures on my blog. I sowed them on March 27th and they took ages to germinate. once they did though they grew at a very fast rate (early nantes 2) and so only 11 weeks and 6 days from seed to table. So in my limited experience carrots are slow to germinate but quick to grow
