      there's one called plot crop(www.plotcrop.co.uk) you can download the demo & if you like it buy it off the guy and he'll send you the key to unlock it.

      I use powerpoint & a spreadheet cos it's free & i'm tight

      It depends if you want to store photo's & things against subjects etc

          On the same theme - I've planned out my patch with a regard for companion planting / soil type / position of sun. If anyone has the time to give me an opinion I'd be really grateful for a private message and I'll send details - as it's too much info for a forum message.

            Suee, nothing is ever too big for a forum message if its about growing your own food. OK there is a limit to how many words you can post in one go, I think it is about 1000 words.
            When you look at some of other peoples posts you will see how long they can be. Don't be shy just post and see what people think. If we can help we will; us Grapes are good at that! If you can't post it in one go put it on the boards as part one and then finnish it as part two.

              OK Jaxom - you asked for it but many thanks anyway!(remember this is south west france with water shortage but saving measures in place):
              Plot is 6m X12m divided into 4 and is at the top end of alkalinity.
              1st 1/4 - sun rises in position 5 to 8 (not time but position!):tomatoes, marigolds, basil, nasturtiums, peppers, onions, parsley, coriander;
              2nd quarter (below the above): beetroot, onions (I understand they hate peas and beans); courgettes, chicory;
              3rd and 4th 1/4s (i.e. right hand side - full sun most of day) 1st row peas,beans/sweet peas;
              cucumber, lettuce, radish, marigolds,courgettes. petunia;
              melons, nasturtium, radish;
              peppers, onions;
              leeks,lettuce,spinach, radish.

              Potatoes are on a separate patch with horseradish (when it arrives) and early radishes.

              Yes I know this is ambitious but I kept records of the stuff that did well last year and am trying a few new things this year. (Less than 1000 words!)
